Why Aire Park? A New Chapter in a Growing Area

Aire Park, developed by Vastint, provided Devonshires with the perfect blank canvas — a flexible, modern environment in one of Leeds’ most exciting new business districts. The move offered a fresh start, aligning the new office with the look and functionality of their London space. It enabled the firm to nearly double its desk count and move away from the pressures of hot-desking, creating a future-ready, high-quality workplace. More than just an operational upgrade, the relocation placed Devonshires at the heart of a revitalised area full of energy, ambition, and a strong sense of community — exactly the kind of environment they wanted to be part of.

The Brief: Make Leeds Feel Like London — But Better!

Devonshires wanted consistency across offices, especially for staff travelling between locations. They knew what worked in London: Yealink video conferencing, easy-to-use systems, seamless hybrid meetings. Leeds needed that same experience — with a few upgrades.

A recommendation had led the team to Universal AV, and the connection clicked.

Working alongside Bluebottle (design consultant for the London office) and Design Tonic (fit-out contractor), the goal was to replicate the seamless, user-friendly experience of their London space while making meaningful improvements for the Leeds team.

The AV priorities were clear:

  • Replicate the Yealink-based AV experience from London.
  • Introduce intuitive room booking via GoBright — a first for Leeds, offering structure and visibility for all.
  • Design a system anyone could use — no frustration, no confusion.
  • Make the large divisible meeting room flexible, practical, and reliable.

“This new space had to be different. Staff were promised the solutions would be easy to use, rooms would be bookable, and video calls would be simple. We also wanted people travelling between offices to feel immediately comfortable. Familiar technology and inclusive design — that was essential.”

One of the biggest technical challenges was the large divisible meeting room — a space with known acoustic issues and a complex layout. It needed to be flexible, intuitive, and reliable, whether used as one large space or split into smaller rooms.

Through detailed consultations, he gained insight into both the physical environment and the needs of its users. Despite some unavoidable delays around connectivity (the downside of being the first tenants in a brand-new building), the installation went smoothly. Universal AV worked flexibly with the rest of the fit-out team to keep things on track.

The meeting rooms have a bit of Yorkshire charm, too — all named after East Coast seaside towns, giving the space a sense of identity and local pride.

The new Leeds office now mirrors the quality and user experience of Devonshires’ London HQ — with added flexibility and improved accessibility. Staff book rooms effortlessly, hybrid meetings run seamlessly, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
